Pregnancy will expand the uterus. This will in turn put a lot of pressure on the rectum and the anus. At the same time, the woman will be going through hormonal changes, which will in turn weaken the muscles around the area. This is going to lead to hemorrhoids, and pretty bad ones at that.
  • It is important that you do not sit on the toilet for long periods of time. When you are sat down on the toilet, you are going to be putting a lot of pressure on the blood vessels.
  • Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time will lead to hemorrhoids. This is why it is important that you switch up your routine from time to time. Sat down for a while? Stand up and have a walk! Five minutes can mean absolutely everything when it comes to the prevention of hemorrhoids.
  • Rectal surgery. This will, of course, weaken the area around the rectum which could lead to an increased chance of hemorrhoids occurring.
  • Obesity: Many people who suffer from hemorrhoids are actually When your body is carrying a lot of weight, it will be putting a lot of pressure on the lower reaches of your body. Thankfully, once you start to lose weight, the hemorrhoids will stop.
  • Colon cancer, although this is not all that common. Hemorrhoids can be the only symptom of colon cancer, hence why it is important that you get hemorrhoids checked-out as soon as possible.
  • Certain spinal cord injuries can have an impact on the posture of a person. When the posture is changed, a person may be putting an increased amount of pressure on their anal area which can, of course, lead to hemorrhoids.
  • Diarrhea, much like constipation, can also put an increased amount of pressure on the hemorrhoids. If you are suffering from diarrhea, it is in your best interests to try and quell it as soon as possible.
